Laid-back yet luxurious — built for a warm-weather lifestyle.

Tucked into the stylish coastal village of Freshwater on the Northern Beaches, a reimagined building facade and extensive re-build gave this family home a second shot at life.

Our summer-loving clients wanted a laid-back yet luxurious house suitable for their warm-weather lifestyle, with materials that could withstand sandy feet and spaces to stash surfboards and beach bags. To capture the magic of the seaside location we oriented the floorplan outwards to face the water.

Fuss-free and low maintenance, polished concrete flooring lines the main living areas while warm timber flooring was installed in the bedrooms. A batten feature on the stairs connects the two materials.

Embodying the essence of a modern coastal home, we specified a restrained colour and materials palette with natural woods, marble accents and fresh neutrals in the sleeping quarters. The simple canvas recedes into the background as the eye is drawn to the view.
